Chapter 6 — Why Religion Emerges
文明中的教化方式
A Mode of Instruction Within Civilization
When civilization takes form,
humans begin to reflect on the universe.
Where does the world come from?
Why does life exist?
How should one live?
In seeking to answer these questions,
different civilizations gradually develop
systems of thought.
These include
philosophy, ethics,
and religion.
The emergence of religion
is not accidental.
In many civilizations,
religion serves
as a means of instruction and guidance.
Through narratives, symbols, and rituals,
it helps people understand
order and responsibility.
Thus, religion becomes
a part of civilization.
However, religion belongs
to the civilizational layer,
and is not
the operation of the universe itself.
萬物同在 各循其序
All things coexist, each following its own order
