Chapter 5 — How Beings Become the Sacred
職務的承擔
The Assumption of Function
If the sacred is a function,
then a question arises:
How do beings assume these roles?
In human civilization,
different concepts
are often used
to describe this process.
For example:
cultivation,
merit,
mission,
or destiny.
Cultivation
refers to the adjustment
and development of oneself.
Merit
refers to contributions
to the order.
When an entity
gradually develops both capability
and responsibility,
it may assume
a greater role.
In embodied life
within the world of civilization,
this assumption
is often described
as mission or destiny.
In other words,
certain beings,
within the course of life,
take on specific responsibilities
and accumulate merit
through their actions.
However,
one point must be understood:
Merit is only one condition;
it is not equivalent to the sacred.
Within the structure of the universe,
the primary subject of beings
is not the physical body,
but the spirit.
The body is only a vehicle
through which the spirit operates
within the civilizational world.
Therefore,
beings are not fundamentally
defined by the body.
Some beings
live within civilization
through physical form;
while others,
when possessing capability
and responsibility,
assume functions
within the universe.
When a being
takes on the responsibility
of maintaining order,
it is referred to as sacred.
Thus, it can be said:
The sacred is not another race.
The sacred is beings
who assume functions
within the universe.
萬物同在 各循其序
All things coexist, each following its own order
